New car purchased for the Stallcombe Community fleet
Just before Christmas we collected our first automatic car, a new addition to the Stallcombe Community fleet.

Staff feedback had highlighted that a samll automatic car for short trips would be really beneficial for the people we support and the staff team who drive our fleet. The Toyota Aygo is already proving popular and has been out on a few trips already!

Bicton Gardens Christmas Craft Fair
Stallcombe Community Estates Support Workers Helen and Mandy attended the Christmas Crafts Fair at Bicton Gardens in early December, they took along a selection of handcrafted items including wreaths, vases and 'lasagne bulb pots' - pots planted up by the people we support with various flower bulbs layered like a lasagne, designed to give height and variety as they bloom.
It was a lovely evening, the team were joined by some of the people we support who helped on the stall and also enjoyed going to meet Father Christmas, listen to carols sung by Budleigh Men's choir and visiting Santa's toy workshop. It was great to meet the other talented crafters and to meet lots of lovely supporters who braved a rather wet and windy evening to come and visit the event. Thank you Bicton Gardens for having us!

Grant Funding for Inclusive Kitchen secured
Great news! We’ve successfully secured grant funding for our wheelchair-accessible inclusive kitchen. We have been fortunate to receive grant funding of over £85,000 towards this exciting project!
This funding along with funds set aside by the Trustees for this project, will allow us to make meaningful improvements that benefit both the people we support and the wider team. Well done and thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, in particular to resident James who wrote a wonderful letter to the Grant Funders to explain why he would like us to have the new kitchen. We will keep you posted on this project as it progresses!

Congratulations Matt

CQC Inspection Update – We’re Rated GOOD!
We are delighted to share some fantastic news with our community. In May, we welcomed the Care Quality Commission (CQC) into our service for an inspection.

After a thorough review of the care we provide, our processes, and the experiences of the people we support, we are extremely proud to announce that we have received an overall GOOD rating.

This outcome reflects the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our entire team. Every member of staff plays a vital role in ensuring we deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care, and this rating is a testament to their ongoing commitment.

The CQC’s findings highlight the quality of our environment, the positive relationships we build, and our focus on enabling people to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. We will continue to build on this strong foundation as we strive for excellence in everything we do.

The full CQC report is available to view on the CQC website for anyone who would like to read more about the inspection and findings.

Thank you to our staff, the people we support, their families, and our wider community for helping us achieve this wonderful result.

Cheers to that! Photo of Paul enjoying his pint of Guinness at a sports event in Summer 2025
