Our Environment
Stallcombe Community promotes a green ethos, we are very lucky to be situated in 55 acres of East Devon Countryside and we are committed to protecting our environment, Stallcombe Community does this by:

-
Generating electricity from our solar array, we have solar panels on the roof of the cottage and in 2015 Stallcombe installed its solar array meaning we can produce our own electricity and sell any spare KW's back to The National Grid. Our solar array helps to reduce the amount of CO2 we produce.
-
Getting heat and hot water from our on site bio-mass boilers, heating at Willows is from a ground source heat pump.
-
The onsite reed bed, waste water is processed through the system, the clean water passes in to the ground and the processed waste is stored in a tank system before being taken offsite to be recycled.
-
Watering our gardens with water collected from our on-site bore hole
-
Sustainable gardening methods, growing produce that can be used in our kitchens.
-
Reducing waste as much as possible by reusing items, recycling as much as possible.
-
Working with local suppliers to reduce our food miles.
