Sonia Nye

Chief Executive Officer

Sonia is the CEO here at Stallcombe Community. Sonia joined the charity in April 2022. Having worked in HR and compliance roles within the legal sector for many years, she undertook a change of direction and focused on Social Care.  

 

In her spare time she enjoys most country pursuits and can often be found walking or cycling around Devon and Cornwall.

 

Sonia is the Co-founder of the Stallcombe Stompers, a walking group that head out most lunchtimes, the idea behind this group was promoting the benefit to staff well-being and positive team work, it is often commented that the laughter from this group can be heard as they head up Sanctuary Lane- all staff members are welcome to join!

​

Sonia is the Nominated Individual for the service.

Hayley Searle 

Senior Leadership Team Business Support

Hayley joined the organisation a week before Christmas in 2020, in the midst of covid restrictions for care homes, Hayley recalls not really seeing anybody's face for the first few months of working at Stallcombe due to mask wearing guidance.

 

Hayley's role is to support the SLT with HR, Compliance, Social Media and Admin Support. One of Hayley's favourite things about working at Stallcombe Community is spending time with the people we support in particular when she is able to go along on a community activity. 

 

Hayley has started the CIPD Level 5 Diploma with Exeter College to further her knowledge and understanding of HR and People Services, due to be completed in the summer of 2025. 

 

Outside of work Hayley enjoys beach walks, learning to paddleboard, baking and taking her cats for walks! (They also play fetch with sticks- proud cat mum!)

Andy Letten 

Health and Safety Manager 

Before coming to work at Stallcombe Community Andy was a Relationship Director with NatWest Commercial Banking, specialising in the health care sector. Having left the Bank after nearly 40 years' service, Andy joined the Finance team on a part time basis in August 2022. 

​

Rapidly allowing his enthusiasm for Stallcombe to get the better of him, Andy extended his working week to become the Health and Safety Manager in May 2023. 

​

Outside of work Andy enjoys playing Bass Trombone with AJ's Big Band and is passionate about all things Italian.

Mel Sancey-Derlon

Team Manager (Stallcombe) 

Mel joined Stallcombe as a Support Worker in 2020,  with a keen interest in learning disabilities and Autism.

 

Mel became a Team Leader at Stallcombe House in 2023 and has since been promoted to Team Manager.

 With a professional background in owning and managing her own company this has assisted her in taking on the daily challenges that come with supporting the diverse community here at Stallcombe. 

 

Mel enjoys her role as Team Manager as she is passionate about person centred care and support and she enjoys the challenges that running a busy care service present! When not working Mel enjoys family time on her small holding in East Devon.

Vicky Eul 

Secretary to the Trustees

Vicky joined Stallcombe as Secretary to the Trustees in May 2024, following ten years of working with children and adults with learning disability in various roles in the Education and Social Care sectors.

 

Vicky has a broad experience of working with Boards of Directors and Governors and was a governor of her daughter's Special Residential school for several years.  With lived experience of supporting her daughter, who has complex needs, in a variety of residential settings across the South West, she is passionate about providing people with learning disability, individualised person-centred quality care.

 

Vicky is excited to be part of the Stallcombe community, supporting Stallcombe's Trustees in their commitment to secure the future of Stallcombe's unique residential care offer.  In addition, she hopes to support increased community engagement through building relationships and the growth of volunteering and CSR opportunities.

Carianne Bright

Head of care

Caz is the Registered Manager for the service, it is her role to oversee the care services we provide. Caz joined us in 2022 having worked in Health and Social Care for many years, Caz held an Operations Management role for a national care provider before joining Stallcombe Community.

 

When Caz is not at work she enjoys village life, living in East Devon. Caz loves animals and is always the first one to volunteer to take the alpacas for a walk with the residents.

 

Caz is mum to two children who keep her busy with their love of cricket, beach walks and all things outdoors!

 

Caz is passionate about the people we support having choice over their own lives and supporting them to achieve their full potential.

Anita Harper 

Head of Finance 

Anita has over 20 years of experience in the charity sector and is responsible for making sure that our funds are used effectively and transparently.

​

Anita is originally from Worcestershire, but moved to Devon 35 years ago and will never leave!

 

She loves the sea and the beautiful beaches of Devon and Cornwall. She also loves dogs and has two furry friends who keep her company and make her laugh

Linda Armstrong 

Deputy Manager (Willows)

Linda started supporting children with Autism 30 years ago when she worked at Ellen Tinkham school as a physiotherapy Technical Instructor. She then moved to work for Leonard Cheshire as a Team Leader at Hollow Lane residential unit supporting children with Autism in the home environment. I progressed to Training Co Ordinator, Deputy manager and then Registered Manager.


In 2009 the home moved to the Risings where it became a residential home for adults with Autism and Linda continued there as the registered manager.
Whilst working with with Leonard Cheshire Linda was privileged to be seconded to work with the Mauritian government to set up a respite centre for children with all disabilities.


Linda was a founder trustee of the Balloons charity which began in 2006 by a group of healthcare professionals who wanted to provide specialist
support for children and young people who were experiencing the negative effects of
bereavement.


Linda joined Stallcombe Community in 2022 as an Autism Practitioner and is now the Deputy Manager of the Willows.


Linda feels fortunate to have had a career and job that she loves. She also considers herself lucky to
have worked with so many amazing people.

Robin Nicholas 

Estates Manager 

Robin joined Stallcombe in 2013 as a Support Worker, he now leads our Estates Team, managing the day to day running of the farm and garden's supported by the Deputy Estates Manager Keith and a team of Estates Support workers and Maintainence Operatives. 

 

When Robin is not at work he enjoys dog walking on Dartmoor, the occasional round of golf, spending time with his family, cooking, and pub lunches.
